Team History
The Milwaukee Brewers have a long and unique history in Major League Baseball, dating back to 1969 when the franchise began play as the Seattle Pilots. After just one season in Seattle, the franchise moved to Milwaukee in 1970 and became the Milwaukee Brewers. The team quickly became an important part of Wisconsin sports and has called Milwaukee home ever since.
The Brewers reached their first World Series in 1982, winning the American League pennant before falling to the St. Louis Cardinals in a memorable seven-game series. Milwaukee later moved to the National League in 1998, joining the NL Central and creating new rivalries with teams such as the Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, and Pittsburgh Pirates.
